Why do I get a rolling GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB screen when I start my new Kubuntu progam

Hello! I have loaded Kubuntu 6.10 to my hard drive and when I go to access it for the first time I get a rolling screen with the word GRUB across that continues for ever, that is, nothing else happens and the program will go no further. I have looked at different articles and some say it could be a motherboard/bios problem.I know how to access/changes the BIOS and have the latest BIOS update installed for my Asus P3V133 MB/PIII/700Mhz chip. I am not a programmer. I have not found the solution to this yet and am wondering if someone here can point me in the right direction? Thank you.

I would just restore Grub again.

Task B4 or B5 of the last link of my signature refers.

Installer can have bugs too. Don't blame the hardware unless you use RAID.

Leave the Bios alone too because Grub works on data fed by the Bios.

If you want to boot the unbootable make a bootable Grub floppy first using instruction as per Chapter 3.1 of the Grub Manual and let us know when you are ready.

I have experienced grub issues on my PIII dual cpu xeon, 512mb 133 memory on a supermicro mobo i believe. anyways grub has been sometimes sketchy on my system. The times it acts funny is when the IDE hard drives are on write protect (option sometimes found in BIOS). I'm not sure that helps or not.
