Why cannot I print to my networked (wired) printer from a Firefox screen?
I am currently using Ubuntu Hardy Heron.
My problem is not being able to print, web pages, to my net-worked printer (hp 1022). I can address the printer -192.168.0.10- and modify the control pages. I can print to the printer from Open office. The message I get when attempting to print suggests that the printer is not connected. This is clearly not so. Can any one help? |
Firefox needs the program to call for printing.
Presuming you have cups running, have you added the printer at http://localhost:631 |
Thanks for the reply

The printer is included in the CUPS list of printers. I have just down loaded OPERA and it printed directly from the screen. I would still like to use FIREFOX. Sorry to be such an ignoramous - can you point me to the place in FIREFOX? Thanks again Barzo. |
File/Print or Edit/preferences get you to the adjustables
In File/Print, you should see your printer named (Mine says Epson stylus C70) If youy see 'Postscript Default, that's no good. |
