why cannot access the internet as root?

Hi all,

I am just told that it is better for me to access the internet as a user, but not the root, as it is for security concern. however, i don't quite understand why my system will face the danger if i access net as the root.

thanx...

there are glitches in any computer program. if you have one of these programs running, and your logged in as root, that program has root acces to your machine. if that program were to crash, or someone were to exploit that glitch, you system could be hosed in a matter of seconds. lower-level users dont have write access to such places that are critical for system opertion, and thus a normal user cannot make the system unbootable at a whim. this allows for anyone to exploit that normal user account, they rally cant do a whole lot without a lot of extra work.
