why can my Belkin usb wireless adapter be seen by some distro's and not others

I have a Belkin usb adapter ieee 802.11b/11 Mbps model # F5D6050. It is readily "seen" and activated by some distro's, i.e., PClinuxos but not many others. I do not know how to go about getting these other distro's to use this adapter. They find no wireless networks!

I would appreciate any help!

Thank you

A bit of searching shows that your card is based off the Atmel AT76C503A chipset, which has a Linux driver!

The reason some distros identify it and some don't is because some come with the Atmel driver out of the box, while others don't. Just build and install this driver and you should be good.
A very simple solution to these small issues is to just google your brand and model number with "linux" at the end of your search. It saves everyone (including you) time, frustration, and a lot of other things. All I searched for was "belkin F5D6050 linux", and bam, lots of hits.

good luck,

Thank you for the quick support and reply. I am now trying to find out how to build and install the Atmel driver. Or, use a distribution that includes it.

Thanks again
