I am not sure where to start but surely someone else has a FTA satellite system for their TV. My problem( after switching from that other operating system) is the ability to extract an exe file into wine and get the Loader2, z modem and the latest files for my ViewSat receiver.

I have the above items down loaded and unzipped but cannot get wine to recognize them. I unpack them to wine my cursor shows that it is working then it stops and there is no sign of the file at all.

I am running Ubuntu and have a Dell Inspiron 530 that is less than 6 months old.

Wine doesn't convert anything. It allows SOME Windows applications to run under Linux. Not all applications will run under Wine.

Perhaps you can explain in a little more detail exactly what steps you are taking and what results you are getting.
