Why can I download a real torent and seed it but not my own?
I last night downloaded linux gamers dvd and then became it's seed too.
Worked fine-but if I create an iso, and upload the torrent to linux tracker and then download it to start seeding whatever-nothing... I had this issue in an earlier post- I followed this how-to- ( http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.p...ting_a_torrent ) Like I said-if I can download a iso from torrent and seed it-that means my ports are open-yes? So, why can't I start my torrent?? |
In order to seed a torrent, you must
- create the torrent - announce the torrent somewhere - have people who are downloading the torrent. |
I did it Exactly like that.
Code:
Creating a new Torrent for LinuxTracker.org |
Quote:

Yep-I'm starting over clean now.
I did as it said-uploaded the torrent file, then downloaded the file(dsl) and put it in the folder with my distro so Ktorrent could do a checksum. Code:
Put the new, Linuxtracker version of |
normally yes,
Make sure you have the ports open (on the router and on the firewall) http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.p...rk.2FTCP.2FUDP |
OK-did all that too-PORTS must be open because I already downloaded an iso from linuxtracker-now seeding it.
But when I try to do mine- "Initiating connection to 71.161.51.84" "Authentication to 71.161.51.84 : failure" I must still be doing something wrong.... |
See-it's downloading
Slitaz.... Code:
|
so the error comes when you try to download your own torrent from linuxtracker ?
|
YEP-when I try mine it wants to use
""Initiating connection to 71.161.51.84" "Authentication to 71.161.51.84 : failure" But when downloading a different torrent it uses- ": Initiating connection to 151.16.244.48 Mon Apr 20 14:04:14 2009: Initiating connection to 24.209.227.220 Mon Apr 20 14:04:14 2009: Initiating connection to 71.161.51.84 Mon Apr 20 14:04:14 2009: Initiating connection to 77.231.163.23 Mon Apr 20 14:04:14 2009: Initiating connection to 85.68.27.234 Mon Apr 20 14:04:14 2009: Initiating connection to 88.168.12.32 Mon Apr 20 14:04:14 2009: Initiating connection to 90.45.23.92 Mon Apr 20 14:04:14 2009: Authentication to 88.168.12.32 : ok Mon Apr 20 14:04:14 2009: Starting socketmonitor threads Mon Apr 20 14:04:15 2009: Authentication to 151.16.244.48 : ok Mon Apr 20 14:04:16 2009: Authentication to 90.45.23.92 : ok So, how do I cahnge that for mine...? |
Also this-
Code:
Mon Apr 20 14:04:07 2009: Forwarding port 50000 (TCP) |
I have uploaded your
LinuxToolz-BETA-USB.zip as a torrent file Can you download it? http://linuxtracker.org/index.php?pa...4f2761c444541f |
