Why can't I get my shockwave Flash player to work?

It won't play sound. It used to, now it won't
And I know my sound card is working.
I use Netscape 7 on Redhat 9
I installed flash player 6, it used to work, now it doesn't play sound. Help, I'm stressed.

do other things like xmms work? anything that utilizes your sound card?
