Why am I getting "there was an error playing video from the webcam".
Hello! I installed cheese, and I am getting the error I posted. I use Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon, and works well. I have uninstalled and re-installed, and don't understand why the error. Ideas??
Thank you!
Dave

what media player are you trying to playback webcam video on?
show the fullname of file too?
maybe your video player can't handle that format, or needs a codec before it can?

So that is what I had. I installed cheese from the repository.
When I click on cheese in the menu, and all it did was flash a picture me and go to a blank screen.
Thank you all for your help!
