Unhappy While trying to use cfdisk I get this error....

I am trying to install Slackware and when I try to use cfdisk it says "FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive. Press any key to exit cfdisk"
I have an Ultra-ATA card (Ultra100 TX2) from promise and both of my Western Digital Hard drives are connected to it. Do I need to unlock the hard drives or mount them or something so that they can be opened and so that I can use cfdisk?

Thanks!
Erik

are you trying to cfdisk a drive which is currently mounted ? or even worse used to boot your machine ? that may not work.

and also, i believe you must be running as root (su -) to re-partiton the disk.
