jamison20000e, there is Rolling Rhino from Ubuntu. It's only available on GitHub and is considered for developers, although I'm sure a seasoned Linux user could also use it successfully.

I haven't distro hopped much for years but some communities do bring great stuff back from spin off distros, to my distro of choice a netinst of sid.
I use Google and Chrome and I'm well aware that they watch me if I let them... definitely keep that in mind with canonical or microcoughed.

I just use Linux Mint to avoid the tracking and whatever else Canonical does. I got lucky all those years ago when doing a little research, as I was originally going to install Ubuntu. I had tried it briefly in 2006. Glad I never had to struggle with GNOME. Using Windows 95/98/XP all those years, the Cinnamon desktop with Mint was just what the doctor ordered.

Best thing about GPLs is we can hinge them up. I couldn't imagine running a google operating system on PC? Oh wait the little robot down there says I can!

To be fair people who say they don't trust corporations probably work* for one?!. Plus, just like we can make Sid or Mint trust our freedom, we can set them up the other way around... especially with the proprietary hardware most of us use.
Peace.
