Which slackware and Ubuntu would you recommend for the following configuration?

I went to Ubuntu website and saw there are two types, 32-bit and 64-bit. I was going to get 64-bit, but the website recommended me 32-bit.

Intel i5, 2.26Ghz, 64-bit, 3 GB of RAM

Thank you, friends at Linux Questions!!

If you have a 64-bit processor, you can install either the 64-bit or the 32-bit version of Linux. 64-bit Linux is pretty mature, but there may be a few cases where you also need to install some 32-bit libraries (eg Adobe Reader).

If you don't need the speed and/or memory addressing of 64-bit, then you can stay with 32.

Choose the 64-bit version. You have 64-bit hardware.

They recommend 32-bit because it will work on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware, in case you aren't sure which you have.

Both 32-bit:
Xubuntu
Salix 13.1

Your performance will be more than you wished for, sticking with "light" desktops
and 32-bit architecture.

Why the i5?
