which one to install centOS 4 or centOS 5 ? Pls HELP !!!

Hi all,

Well I am new to Linux. I have installed Redhat 9 & RHEL3 but that was from CDs. I have never installed any RPMs.
I wanna install CentOS 4 or 5 but confused which one to install & how to install.
My system specs are:
=> Intel 845 GVSR board
=> 1 GB RAM
=> 2.4 GHz processor

I have heard that there are some installation & usage woes in CentOS 5. Is it so ???
I need basic functionalities like internet, printing, yahoo messenger, oracle, some webservers(like apache) etc.
Which one would be okay to install, CentOS 4 or 5 ?? I have a good hand on Windows but never tried them on Linux machines.

Also can I mount windows(XP Pro) partitions in Linux. If so, which partitions FAT or NTFS ??

To burn bootable CDs, I found two options in the download link i.e. i386 & x86_64 http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/isos/
Which one to go for, i guess its i386.

Also, further on clicking the link http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/centos/5.0/isos/i386/

I found these options :-

CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-1of6.iso 10-Apr-2007 21:12 626M
CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-1to6.torrent 12-Apr-2007 09:47 278K
CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-2of6.iso 10-Apr-2007 21:18 636M
CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-3of6.iso 10-Apr-2007 21:24 628M
CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-4of6.iso 10-Apr-2007 21:33 633M
CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-5of6.iso 10-Apr-2007 21:38 637M
CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-6of6.iso 10-Apr-2007 21:44 388M
CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-DVD.torrent 11-Apr-2007 21:34 277K
md5sum.txt 11-Apr-2007 01:44 440
md5sum.txt.asc 12-Apr-2007 21:41 676
sha1sum.txt 11-Apr-2007 01:44 496
sha1sum.txt.asc 12-Apr-2007 21:41 732

Should I download the highlighed options i.e. 6 ISOs. I hope I just need them to install CentOS. Is anything else required ??

Pls Help. I am completely out of view to how to start.

Thanks in adv.

I'd probably go for the latest version (5). You can just get the 6 isos (in fact, you probably only need the first 3 and then you can install anything else from the net via yum, but go ahead and get all 6 if you want). Nothing else is required -- just boot off the first CD and follow the prompts.

You can mount Windows partitions on Linux (NTFS may still be read only -- not sure).

Where I work we've standardized on CentOS 4 for servers but I hope to be trying version 5 out in a test environment soon.
