Which one should i go for: Squid proxy server or Cyberoam?
 

I am new to the security softwares. We need a software that authenticates users and saves the logs and should not be easy to hack into. I was confused between squid proxy server and cyberoam. Which one should i use, Please suggest.

Not sure they are the same type of deal exactly that I do know.

Who are the users and what are they logging in to or from may help us answer the question.

There may be some free software programs that may suite your needs. It may be that you'll need to purchase a dedicated firewall appliance and software suite.

The users will be university students and the admin staff, they will be logging in from virtualized desktops.

yes we will start testing with 100-200 users first... we have ldap for users and will connect it with either one of squid or cyberoam.
