Which mail service does the program use (rkhunter)?

I am adding rkhunter and chkrootkit to the daily cron folder.
I have changed the rkhunter.conf to email me on a warning but how do I know which mail sevrice is used?
I have postfix running but use sendmail don't they?

They use the default mailserver from your system.
