Which location to put ppd files (printer driver)

Hi there,

I have a HP Deskjet 3745 printer. Am using RHEL 3, which does not have the drivers for this printer. I downloaded a ppd file after googling. Now, I dont know where to put this ppd printer driver. which location does linux use to store the printer drivers.

I tried other available printer driver listings in the print manager but none of them worked

Use cups web interface - "localhost:631". Add your printer, when prompt for ppd file, point yours. After installing cups will paste it in /etc/cups/ppd. next you can use "lpoptions -p <printer> -l" to review your printer specific options.
