Loading from the cover disk can't do any harm, so have a look. The only catch is that it may leave off the media codecs to avoid legal action if the magazine is distributed in the USA. So, if any of those won't play mp3 and mp4 files, that's why. Mint is always worth trying. OpenSuse is a heavyweight, using the KDE desktop, but your computers should have no problems. It too is very reliable. Bodhi is rather different and optimised for smaller, older computers. It used to install with hardly any software so that you could select your own, but they may have changed that. Try them all!
