which linux is right for me?
 

I have a sony laptop(intel core 2 duo 1.66 Ghz, 80GB HDD, 2GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 GPU with 300+ maximum video mem), it has Vista premium installed but it uses 20GB harddisk at the beginning and as I install more software it goes to nearly 30GB, and Sony reserved about 10GB for recovery, I am totally annoyed so I want to use linux on my laptop, just wondering which linux is best for me, if I want to use it to do common tasks on Windows (except playing game).
It should be easy to install/uninstall software and has lots of software support, and easy to use wifi and bluetooth, also, easy to burn CD, thanks a lot

Read through that page. Look for interesting links as well as the primary reviews. Picking a distro is a philosophical and personal choice. All you can get here is people advertising their favorites. None is distinctively superior to the others in any technical sense.

You really should have just read one of the other 10,000 or so threads with the same title.

PCLinuxOS is the easiest, (K/X)Ubuntu is easy too and has far more software packages (about 20000). There are many other distros which would make a good choice (Suse, Fedora, Mandriva, ...) but until you actually know better just what you are looking for, these two can be considered pretty failsafe. Still, it wouldn't hurt to have a look at the link that rickh put up. It may be interesting to know what you're getting into before you start downloading.
