Which Linux is good for music programs
 

I am looking into Linux but am just not sure which one to try. I am going to be using the computer for alot of different music programs. I read that Ubuntu was not good for this. Can anyone give me their thoughts.

You don't say what you mean by "music programs": Listening to music? Mixing? Editing? Creating?

its like windows. You can do what the software you install does. you can install ubuntu and download music software and make it the best god damn music station in the world. If you want the apps installed during installation (ie, you're not comfortable with downloading and installing apps with linux)then i know that fedora comes with hundreds of audio apps that you can install during fedora installation

Sorry should have said it better. My son creates and mixes music. And yes downloads also. I saw on the ubuntu forums yesterday that it is not a good one that there are alot of problems with sound on it. I am looking for a version of linux that is friendly user for begining.

(K)ubuntu works just fine with sound. I have had absolutely no problems, but of course YMMV! It's an "easy" distro too. As themanwhowas says, you can just install whatever you need. Try it out.
