Which Linux is best to use since RH?

Since Red Hat stopped supporting the 7.x 8.x and 9.x versions, I would like to know what flavor of Linux most of you are using for firewalls. I want a version that is supported and I can get updates like those that Red Hat was offering.

The updates do not necessarily need to be automatic, easily available.

if all you want to do is setup a firewall check out

other than that it depends on what you want to do w/the distro, i.e. a desktop workstation, or a webserver, or maybe a headless fileserver. really just depends on what you want to do, and how much configuring your willing to do. i like slack, because i'm learning tons configuring it. i also liked mandrake as it had a very easy to configure sys. many folks i've seen posting here are going to fedora the redhat spinoff. hope that sheds some light.
good luck.

suse was a bitch to install (not avialable in iso format... they reccomend using ftp or smb networking from another box, across network for install), but the YAST updates are very painless, and can be %100 automated.

good luck
