which linux?

Which one? Red Hat 9, Fedora core2, or Mandrake 10? I have all of them and I was wondering what would be the best choice for a noob?

hammernh; question? assume these are on cd`s, if so next ? size of hdd and ram?
linux are ram hogs. to preform efficient
ram is big factor (128mb >) better. but to simplify your ? , explore each distro on cd
try them and get the feel of each till your satisfied! then the choice is yours with what you feel comfortable with the right distro.

Mandrake 10 is pretty newbie friendly but I have never used Red Hat 9 or Fedora core2 so I can't compare. Why not try a Mandrake install and see how you go? Make sure that you put /home on its own partition and then, if you don't get on with Mandrake, you can install something else but retain the same personal settings. Mandrake 10 should do what you want though --- and it's pretty comprehensive!
Good luck!!

Having had experience with all 3, I would have to recommend Mandrake. More user-friendly, more configuration options, besides it also installs faster.

(Of course, I KNOW I'm gonna hear it from the RH/Fedora fans, but just my 2 cents worth... )
