which iso images should i download to install centOS 5
 
Hi Everyone,
I want to install centOS 5 in my laptop. My current operating system is windows(64 bit). I want to use both OS.
Which iso images should i download and install to do this from given link:
"http://mirror.dhakacom.com/centos/5.8/isos/x86_64/"
Please also tell if there any tricky part. I am new to linux.

anyone, the mirror which can provide good bandwidth speed.so generally we select near to our location

There are lot of iso files (eg 1of8, 2of8......). Tell me which one I have to download.
I have speedy internet connection.

If your connection is speedy, go with a net install one, it is small, 1 CD and you can install directly over the net. I used it and it was great!

I'd suggest you download the 2 DVD set. That is the complete repository and the installer lets you choose what sort of installation you want. I'd also suggest you go for version 6, rather than 5.

There's a detailed guide at
http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/5....llation_Guide/
— look at sections 2 and 4. I know it says version 5, but nothing has changed much in the set up process.

You'll probably find you need more software, and you can learn about using additional repositories at
http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories
Be sure to set their priorities, so that one can't overwrite software installed by another:
http://wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities
