Which File To Download For Iso

After a little hassle I got Fedora 1 installed and operating with few issues, however after more reading and such, on the forum here, I would like to check out suse or maybe mandrake. Can anyone give me the pros and cons of either dist., also when I went to the suse site to download it, I saw a bunch of files on the ftp server, which one(s) do i need to burn my ISO? thanks. specs for the pc with linux installed is PIII, 700mhz, 20 gb HD, nvidia TNT, integrated sound, 256mb ram. Basically I am looking for a nice looking, very stable internet browsing machine.

SuSE doesn't have a set of downloadable installation ISOs like other distros... To install, you either need to buy a copy, or download the boot.iso (about 22MB), and install off a network. You can download all the packages to a second computer, and serve them to the network (FTP, HTTP, NFS, or SMB). Or, you can install right off the SuSE FTP server.

There is a live-CD version that you can download... It runs SuSE right off the CD, so you don't have to install to try it. Since it's running off a CD, it runs slower than an install, though. And, you prob'ly lose any settings you change when you poweroff.

if the live eval can gain access to a (basically non-ntfs) writeable partition, it will save all your settings... works beautifully.

I personally recomend RedHat--You can get the ISO's off of ftp.redhat.com or go linuxiso.org
