which distro is best for a beginner!


Hi!
I want to switch to Linux, but having a large number of distros available and being a novice in Linux i dont know which distro is best suited for me...plz tell me what distro shall i install..!

This is one question thats guaranteed to appear almost everyday Do we have a sticky somewhere for it, if not I think one should be created.

If we create it, no none will read it. In Linux-General, there is a sticky about installing from source and from rpm. Thing is, it seems that it's easier to create a new thread than look for an old one.

You are probably right, it looks like there are lot members who don't search through previous threads to ceck if other people have had similar problems.
