Smile Where to start Perl scripting

I wish to learn perl scripting. But i dont know anything about it. Please suggest me some links(basic) to study that.

Or shall i start some other scripting? Because now i am fresh, I can learn anything which must be useful to my knowledge growth...Please guide me...

Perl is a tough language, but it is so extremely useful for a ton of different things. From doing every day tasks on any OS platform, to web development, to software development, basically anything you can think of you can do with Perl.

The O'Reilly Perl books, the Llama book in particular are great.
