Just about any distribution has a package manager--For SUSE it is YAST. You can access it from the GUI---it is usually called something like "install software" or "install programs".

The package manager goes to a "repository" which is typically a folder on a server somewere, but CAN be a CD or DVD.

To help us help you, tell us if you have used the SUSE package manager---and tell us what specific functions you don't understand.
