Since it's a web based application, you should install it under your apache DocumentRoot. I think that the instructions are straightforward.

Can't really understand your question. The link you posted has complete installation notes, which tell you how to install this (http://proftpd-adm.sourceforge.net/page_install.php).

You say you want to "install this program as phpmyadmin"..do you mean as the phpmyadmin user? Use the same procedures? Install to same location??

Follow the installation instructions on the web site...they're written like they are for a reason, and following them will get things working correctly.

TB0ne/ Thnaks for your reply.

At xampp for linux, phpmyadmin is located at "opt/lampp/phpmyadmin"

But, as bathory stated, this program , I think, is web-related program. So I ddid't know where I should install this program.

bathory/ Thaks for your kind advise.

If phpmyadmin is installed in /opt/lampp/phpmyadmin and it's working, then the apache DocumentRoot is /opt/lampp, so you have to extract the archive there.
