where to find the source code for a small easily loadable filesystem


where can i find the c code for a small, easily compilable and loadable filesystem module?(any filesystem would do)
i would like to compile the filesystem module (manually) not through menuconfig (configuring by selecting module option)
and i want to load it into the running kernel and see how it works.....
