Well, what language are you trying to download?

Hello Hitmen,

To access DictOOo, choose the File menu from within OpenOffice.org, then choose Wizards and click on Install new dictionaries....

OR

Go to http://lingucomponent.openoffice.org...ictionary.html and download the spell checking dictionary and the hyphenation dictionary for the language of your choice. You can, of course, download and install more than one language.

What is the version of your OpenOffice you're using?

If it is latest version then already there is built in dictionary available there.

Or you can go on the link mentioned in my previous post and download and install it from there..

Or you can check this link also: http://sourceforge.net/projects/oood...ries/15012002/

Ahhh I never installed the newest version.
Let me try again.

Now i is encounter another problem.

The language default is set as unknown. I want it to be english(USA) by default. Is it possible?

I dont want to switch it every time I start it up

DavidMcCann 08-22-2012 11:13 AM

There are two default languages involved: the interface and the documents. If you can read it, then you've got the USA interface (the only English one there is). For the documents, click on Tools — Options — Languages and set both Locale and Default for documents.
