Where to download Linux Mint xfce.ISO file to download=>to boot it from USB stick.
 

Hi there! I was adviced to install Ubuntu Studio instead of Windows based audio software. In addition I've bought a new SSD disk to assure unwanted deleting or ERASED DATA from the former Hard Disk with Win7. For the start I've succsessfully wrote a bootable Linux Mint xfce distro DVD. With YUMI I've made another PuppyLinux bootable USB stick of 2 Gb.
- Playing with these little toys when inserted back my old Hard Disk with Windows 7 installed (2 partitions/ntfs/1 for System another for DATA)they didn't boot anymore.
-I've installed Win 7 a-new on the SSD as first partition/ntsf, 2. as DATA/ntsf, 3. UbuntuStudio/ex4 which do not support much separate partition for DATA !!??? Why I don't know. When formatting or deleting anything as Operating System you don't want to delete your files (my music that was not easy to compose..I've allready deleted my song cos' all that mish-mash)
-I intend to make the USB Linux Mint to rescue at least my DATA from the former Hard Disk with 'corrupted Win 7'including all Program Files settings and registered programs that I have to download and register once again..Takes time to remedy all that!!!
- To operate with UbuntuStudio it'll take some months to study it, to get familiar, to set all the settings proper for my particular needs, learning curve==>!!
-After all I still claim handwriting music/symphonic stuff...

That might be explained by what 'playing with these little toys' means. Nobody here knows what you did?

Yes it does as do almost all Linux systems which support multiple partitions, reading/writing to them including Linux and windows filesystems. Not sure what you are basing that incorrect information on?

You said you made the bootable DVD. I assume this means you know where to download it from? And have you booted it?
When installing UbuntuStudio, there should have been a step involving partitions. One of the options would have been to manually configure the partitions. I cannot tell you how to do this because I don't know what you want, but you can add a partition just for data if you want.
As for Windows 7 not booting, I recommend going into BIOS as you probably changed some of your settings.
Ubuntu Studio can fix your problem with recovering data just as well as Linux Mint.
I do not know why you are using Puppy Linux, Linux Mint, UbuntuStudios, and Windows 7.

Welcome to LQ.

Once you have saved all your personal data to an external drive, you need to do a triple boot:

1. Windows 7 (first)
2. Linux Mint
3. Ubuntu Studio.
