where is the "windows like" option at mdk?

when i installed a mandrake version 2 years ago,
i remember there was an option that maked
kde windows to behave as if the os was ms windows.

for example, bring the window down at toolbar when
minimized instead of shrink to its title bar

cannot remember where to find it now.
i run mdk 9.2, kde, keramic

thanks

you usually get that as an option the first time you start KDE. I think from then on in you have to change things yourself in the KDE control panel

no, i am sure was not once
you could do it at anytime at kde :/

Still a newbie here myself and on Mandrake 10, so it may be a bit different, but to get the windows to minimize in the taskbar, just right-click the task bar at the bottom and choose ADD - APPLET. There choose 'task bar' or 'system tray' or something like that... One of them options makes the windows minimize like in windows....

Other than that, there's also a graphical interphase that mimics the MS windows thing.... I haven't tried it so I don't really know how well it mimics.... Go to CONFIGURATION - CONFIGURE MY COMPUTER then something where you can configure your login, and there you can find a pull-down menu with all different graphical modes. If you installed all those different modes during the installation, one of them should be the one that mimics Windows....

Like I said, I'm a newbie, so don't shoot me if none of this works... :o

thanks Amras

i am not exactly looking for a gui that mimics windows,
i want to mimic the windows behaviour, in any style

i ll look for the task bar option you mentioned

configure desktop > look and feel > window behaviour
i did what i wanted from there, but still did not find
the general option to mimic ms windows behaviour
