It may have been replaced with another file. Do a quick google search to verify it. But from my understanding it could be /etc/rsyslog.conf or /etc/syslog-ng.conf.

Hi,
Welcome to LinuxQuestions.org. What logging daemon are you using? Syskogd, rsyslog, syslog-ng....

Hi -
Amdx2_64 is correct - the new default file is "/etc/rsyslog.conf". The old syslog was "sysklogd". An alternative is syslog-ng (for "syslog-no-good"? ;-)

You can read more details about rsyslogd here:

http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/w...slog.conf_File

In theory, you should be able to customize your site configuration by adding/modifying files in /etc/rsyslog.d/*. But this bug report suggests there were problems in at least one version of Fedora:
