Someone sed that typing g++ -v wright after installation of Fedora 17, he sees v4.7 installed without moving a muscle.

Question for Moderators
1.Until when Im allowed to use this newbie forum? post 50 maybe?

2.As you may have noticed, I start different threads even when a new question diverges just a bit from the thread title I've strated even if its still the same topic.
I do this for SEO purposes of the forum and think its the desired way also. If not you may inform.

That's is when you install from DVD.
And marks e.g. the group "Development of software" for install.

No g++ ( package name = gcc-c++ ) on the live cd.

"apt-get" : No 'apt-get', the Fedora tool is 'yum' :
1) su <password> 2) yum install gcc-c++

.

apt-get is not used in Fedora. Check on yum.

I assume that you have installed from the Live-CD, not the DVD. gcc is not included in the DVD due to space restrictions.

apt-get is used on Debian based distros (and PCLinuxOS). On Fedory the package manager is yum.

You are allowed to post in the newbie forums as long as you feel that your questions are newbie questions. There is no post restriction.

As long it is the same topic keep your posts in the same thread.

aahhh... thank you. I suppose with yum its included like apt-get in Debian Whezyy ( WHezyy!!! NOT SQuezyy FOLKS! lost 4 hours!)

I manged to have g++ 4.7 with Debian Whezyy in the end. (FINALLYYY!) But
I may try Fedora 13 (edit:17 sorry) as you say with a cleaar instal and into a 64bit. I like the UI gives the feeling of a high standards consumers's OS like Windows 7. (lool noob)

As for the threads, fine if so may it be. I thought I was contributing in maximizing search results quality. What i hate most is entering by search an ocean topic where discussion is balancing from the topic center like a Reainassance Clock

Fedora 13 is end of life and totally unsupported. Don't install that.
