where is .htaccess file


Hello,

I have VPS and centOS Enterprise Linux 5.x installed. this is XEN with lvm partitions

I have problem that my server display whole html files in characterset utf-8 whereas I want to change it to iso-8859-1

I googled and found this link http://www.w3.org/International/O-HTTP-charset

I am very very beginner and don't how can I find .htaccess file on my server. Can you please help me?
