Where does it go?
I just installed mandrake 9.2 and i love it.
But i also installed wine and xmms player and when i right click open with on a music file i cant seem to find xmms.. so i went to usr/share/xmms/ and i only found a wmxmms.xpm file... how do i manually select xmms and wine? |
To start 'xmms' type 'xmms' into a terminal.
To locate the executable type 'which xmms' in a terminal and create a desktop link with that path. It has been a while since I used Wine. Check the docs. Something like 'wine /path/to/windows/program' |
desktop linky? how?
|
I don't know which desktop you are using.
Right clicking should give you the option to create a link. Checking the properties of an existing link should give the syntax. |
ahhh im using kde 3.1 and i tried to make a link but didnt work.. whats the command?
|
Right click on the desktop.
Create New -> Link To Application Type the name for your link in the space at the General tab. Click the icon there if you wish to choose another. At the Execute tab, type the full path in the Command: space. (/usr/bin/xmms (?)) |
well thats all i needed to know is the usr/bin i was looking in usr/share/xmms.. thats for skind only i guess... thanks man
