Where do I start -- NT 4.0 laptop

I have NT 4.0 laptop...don't really care much about what is on it but would like to have a dual partition with Slackware linux. Are there any good articles to get me primed on how to proceed(at the basic level). I gather from the Slackware that I can't run Zipslack on NT 4.0 so I'm SOL there.
Also, any guidance/words of wisdom are appreciated..peace
