Smile Where do I start...?

Hi All,
I'm a newbie and I just installed SuSE 9.1 for the very first time. I have another computer (Windows) that I would like to connect to in via a network. I have the cables, hub, and pci cards but I'd just like to know where do I start? Want the LINUX machine to be a server as I plan to connect other computers to the network in the future. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
TOADOY

Do you know anything at all about networking with Linux? If not, go here. If you just want to find about about Samba, try this. If you're running XP Pro or 2000, you might also want to check this out, which will enable you (among other things) to use NFS in Windows.
