WHERE can I find the initiating script for KDE???

How can I configure the initiation of KDE?

I want to disable xcompmgr for a moment.

As far as I know, there are no "initiation scripts".

KDE or any other window-manager is started by the loginf manager (e.g. kdm, gdm, xdm). Although kde can also be started using 'startx kde'.

.kderc comes to mind, try a search on your system for this file, there should be one in /etc/... or /opt/..., and one in your home directory.
Im not sure tho, what you are trying to do specificaly??

I'm posting a reply to this post, not necessarily because I have a solution,
but because I have a similar issue. See the thread title: KDE Intercepts the Super_L Key
and then post # 4. There I reference certain "initiating" scripts and paths.
