Where can I find newly installed software in AntiX?

I installed Tor browser and Apache server from the package manager in Antix but cannot find the programs to run. I updated the menu but still do not see them? I installed a game and see that on the menu but not Tor or Apache? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Grimlock!,

Very strange.

Tor should appear under Internet in Menu.

I assume you did a search in the Menu for both?

Open Synaptic Package Manager, do a Search (magnifying glass icon in top right) and see if they are listed under Installed.

Try launching them from Terminal.

I'm not an expert at either systems, but the answer is, it depends.

1. apache is a command line service/server. you start it with the command "service apache2 start" and its configured through various text .conf files. I suggest reading up on apache.

2. tor if installed from synaptic installs a command line service/client. there is no desktop menu entry. You can check out the Tor project for info on the tor-browser package, which they distribute themselves as a tarball and you would install outside the usual package management system.
