I am new here on this site and I am relatively new to the modern computer world however I have been using them for over 20 years now. I chewed my teeth on Vic 20s and CoCos. I am told that Linux is a truly free OS. I was on a search to find a site to download it and all I find are sites that sell it. Are there sites where it can be aquired legally at no cost or should I be going to my local software store to get it? I have a computer that seems to be getting more unstable by the day with Win &*^(* 98 even with new builds. I require a dual boot system so I would appreciate any advice that you folks can offer. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

http://www.linuxiso.org/ is a good place to start if you have a CDR. If you don't you may want to buy a CD from somewhere like CheapBytes.
