Where can I find a version of Debian that hasn't got a GUI?
I want to download a version of Debian (the official latest version if possible) and install it on a virtual machine without it having a graphical interface. Only a command line interface. Can you provide me with instructions on how to do that please?
L.E. I want to know how to directly install it without the GUI (for memory optimisation). I don't want it with a GUI and remove it later. |
I recommend doing a "network install" because that will download only what you choose to install (and the latest version, too):
http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/installmanual The "tasksel" stage of the installer allows you to choose which software groups or "tasks" to install. If you don't choose GUI Desktop Environment then it will not be installed. |

It is possible to select no tasks, this will give you a minimal CLI install. |
