Question Where are the .png .xpm collection in linux?

In Windows there is C:/Windows and in there is the collection of windows' backgrounds. I would like to do this in Linux. Where are the .png .xpm (background files) in linux? I know I can just as easily make my own folder somewhere in the file:/ but where is the .png and .xpm collection so I can have all the icons, background, and everything together?

It depends on which distro you have.

I saw that this post had a few views so I took care of things myself, since there is nobody who is nice on this forum to answer.

It seems that if you do

/home/username/.

in the Konsole you will see what seems to be the C:\Windows of your user name. This is good because if you find the C:\Windows of your computer and u mess it up, your done. If you mess up your C:\Windows on your user name, it's just your user name and not your comp.
