Where's the best chatroom style place to talk to knowledgeable linux geeks?
Does anyone know of any chatrooms where i could lerk around and hear the latest on linux?

Maybe some IRC channels for whatever you're interested in?

There are usually a number of interesting things being discussed at #linux at irc.freenode.net

I don't think there is a chatroom that could cover this much data 52046 programs | 1184 distributions
I think the best place I would like to go is to the International CES January 7-10, 2010 All new Electronic products get displayed here.... Consumer Electronics Show ---- last year they showed touchscreen netbooks that still have not been released to the mass public.... Far as linux goes there are just so many programmers developing new software and coming up with new ideas its scary ..... The biggest new concept seems to be coming from google OS ... or chrome OS .... There beta of the google OS may change the way programs function together in the near future... Youtube Video Chrome OS alpha/beta |
##slackware / irc.freenode.net

Since you are running Ubuntu, #ubuntu and ##linux on irc.freenode.net
Internet Relay Chat - IRC - Community Ubuntu Documentation - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InternetRelayChat Chatrooms are so 90's, they are called channels on irc. :) |
I definately recommend jumping on irc.freenode.net. You can get into ##linux to start out but there is usually a channel for each distribution or specific package. So there is an #ubuntu channel, and a #samba channel, etc.
