when trying to upgrade any rpms, it always says it conflicts with older version


whenever i try to upgrade an rpm to a newer version, rpm always says that the newer files conflict with the older files. what am i doing wrong?

(im using FC1)

What command are you using to upgrade? Try:
rpm -Uvh /path/to/file.rpm
