When I download any pdf file from the internet using firefox

it will downloaded and save automatically to /home/$user/Desktop.
How do I prevent this?

When I double click on the pdf from the firefox downloads, it will open in GIMP automatically. but after i save it to the desktop and double click, it will open through kpdf.

Where do i alter the settings?

Hi,

In FireFox, go to Edit - Prepferences. In the tab "General", there's a fill-out for the destination folder, hit "Browse" and select the folder you want as Download folder.

To open it with the app you want, go to the "Applications" tab, from the drop-down, select your choice...

Luck

Thor
