I'm new to linux, and besides my original trouble getting into KDE , and panic thinking I downloaded linux for nothing then realizing linux doesn't HAVE to have a network. Well, anyway I can't get my optical mouse to work at all (which is why I'm posting this while running ghast! windows) Please help me become liberated from uncle Bill and get my mouse working (kind of ironic I want liberation from microsoft using a microsoft mouse).

More Details:
system: intel pentium 150 overclocked to 166
80 mb EDO ram
20 gig western digital-another problem I'll post l8r
3 gig fujitsu drive
(linux is on this one; the 20 gig requires disk managment software the kernel doesn't like)
peanut linux; no idea of version
I'm dling redhat, but that'll be a while.

I am not familiar with the optical mouse type that microsoft makes, but have a question, when you added your mouse to your machine, did you have to load drivers for it off a disk or any type of software, if so, then I know for a fact most likely you will have to go get a cheap 10 dollar mouse for the time being. If you didn't though, I am not sure on that one, I haven't heard of anyone actually getting one to work or have seen any posts or articles getting them to work or not.
