run 'hostname'

look at the prompt, it should be something like

[root@hostname /root]#

or the login prompt

Red Hat Linux release 7.2 (enigma)
Kernel 2.4.24 on an i686

hostname login:

or the GUI login

welcome to linux at hostname:

or at the prompt type 'hostname' (as root)
