whats the default root password
 

hi there, i got kubuntu up and runing. i thought this is the best thing in the world.........so i started exploring and tryed editing the packge list that was a no go i was in the konsole, i put in su then put in my pass but it didn't like it.

u see the problem is i never set a root pass at install

in konsole it won't take my usr pass

put when i'm loged in and when adept prompt me for root pass i can just use my usr pass

i'm confused :scratch: :newbie: :Pengy:

Ubuntu and Kubuntu use sudo by default. So if you want to edit a file, try: sudo gedit somefilename or use nano instead of gedit.
