what will I do if my modem cant be installed in linux ?
I just scraped thru the wine installation guide to run windows program in ubuntu. happy to see a detailed guideline for wine usage. But.........
...... installing wine requires net connection, whereas ....... I cant get connected using linux. I use modem for net connection, and to get connected, this modem is to be installed first. Since the device setup file is .exe file and only compatible for windows OS, my linux cant run the file and hence I cant access net using linux (at this moment, I am accessing net using windows XP OS)
Is there any way of downloading wine package using windows OS and then installing it in linux ?
Or will u suggest me anything else ? Drag me out of this patch, ple........zz.
MY MODEM SPECIFICATION :
ZTE Wireless Terminal
CDMA2000 IX
cordial thanks fr ur response
yes, u guessed right. my modem is nothing but a cellular handset by citycell.
If wine is not my solution, what else is there for me ? how can I make my modem working ?
please let ur hand to me
You can download what you want in Windoze, and then install it in Linux simply by mounting your Windoze drive in Linux. Recent versions of Fedora at least have support for NTFS, so try that.
