What Software?

I am a bit confused here, I though I needed samba but it seems that I was wrong, I use linux(Slackware) And I need to access my shared folder on my server which is running windows2003 Server, As I was told Samba would be needed if I want to share folder from my linux but I don't want to share I just want to access my server folder which I do have the permission since I am the owner.

What exactly I need to Use?

Thanks.

So you want an ftp program? I use gftp which is a great GUI tool for it. There are also cli tools for it I think wget is one.

If you want to see things on a windows machine, you need an aspect of samba, try reading up this way -
Code:
man smbclient
That will bring up the explaination of the samba client. Reading and understanding will allow your computer to connect to a windows shared folder. You don't need to install the samba server, that is more (usually MUCH) more work, and only needed if you want to share from linux to the MS machines.

Peace,

as root, type:

smbmount //server/share /mnt/dir

where server is the network name of your windows computer, share is the name of the folder you want to access, and /mnt/dir is the directory you wish to mount it to (this must exist already!).
