What repository or package I needed to be able to install Scientific Linux?

I'm installing Debian-based portal server. As for the requirements of the server, I make sure that the requirements are met such as Scientific Linux. But when I tried to install scientific linux, it could not find on the package.
Can you please tell me how to add or make repository so I can be able to install the scientific linux?
Thank you very much.

Hi,

Welcome to LQ.

Scientific Linux is a distro. You would need to download and install it just like any other distro. LQ has a page for it here. Or are you maybe looking for something else?

Alright.
So mean to say, I can not install the portal server if I don't have Scientific linux installed on my computer?

OK, let me see if I understand. You have Scientific Linux installed? And you wish to install the Debian based portal server on it?

I don't have Scientific Linux installed on my computer, so basically I can not install the Debian based portal server as per required to it.

The thing is I'm choosing on 4 portal servers to be installed that will fit our needs. So since the portal server that requires Scientific Linux will be very much complicated for me..I think I will not include it on the picture anymore and assess the 3 remaining portal servers.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't see why Scientific Linux (built from Red Hat source code) would be required to run a Debian based portal server. I would think Debian would be the logical distro for that. I've tried Googling on these terms to try to make sense of this and I still don't understand it.

I'm sorry, I also don't know why is that.
All I know is, I was assigned to install a Debian-based portal server. And the P-GRADE Grid Portal server requires a Scientific Linux. So maybe, I can not use that server as an option for us.

Anyway, thank you so much for the help. The next time I need help again, I hope I can count on you.
God Bless.
